Snow Therapy

Sunday was great! I finally received a much needed massage in the AM. Most people want to relax after a massage. When I receive them and can actually lift my limbs with full range of motion, I get all excited about being un-mangled. So then all I want to do is work out. I got invited/uninvited to go ride with Art and Co. Art was running late and asked me to drop him off at the shoreline trail head in City Creek. I was in a bad mood at this point and took Art's suggestion of running the trail for a little ways. Anyone that knows me well, knows that once I get going, I never want to stop. So I threw on my Nike Free's (no socks), didn't bother with gloves and took off up the snowy trail. In my head I was going to run for 20 minutes and then turn around. I ended up enjoying the sunshine and solitude so much that I took off my shirt and ran in my sports bra. I saw two people (who called me insane) after I passed my crazy snow cycling boyz and other than that had the trail to myself. Heaven. I love Heaven. Sometimes life becomes so crazy that I forget to go there. My 20 minute run turned into a 2 hour love fest with just me, the glistening snow, and the soft sounds of my light breath and footsteps dancing gleefully in the moment. I forgot about my worries, fears, etc. By the time I ran the entire trail to the end of Dry Creek and then back to my car, I felt whole again. It's so amazing how nature, sunshine, and solitude are such healers for me.Today, I am still so high. When I am here, I can do anything and everything. This morning I went to my 5:45 AM speed workout with other like minded wonderful running friends. Then dragged Kang with me to swim. After swimming I dropped my car off at the service station and ran to the gym to meet Jeff for 2 hours of yoga. I gave massage for a few hours, ate a late lunch and picked up Canyon early from school.Perhaps I will sleep tonight. Right now I am falling asleep at the computer. Can't ask for anything better than complete fatigue mixed with bliss on a sunny January day.
